Q. What type of city are we?

A. General Law, Type "A" City.

 

Q.  When was Meadowlakes incorporated?

A.  1985

 

Q. When was the POA formed?

A. 1975

 

Q.  What is our City Charter?

A.  We do not have a City Charter since we are a Type A General Law City; we are
      governed by State Statute.

 

Q.  What are the set-back requirements?

A.  25' if backed up to golf course or road and 5' if backed up to another's property.

 

Q.  What is the estimated population?

A.  1834 as of July 2007.

 

Q.  How many homes are built in Meadowlakes?

A.  As of 5/31/09 approximately 982 homes.

 

Q.  What times may construction workers begin and end their days?

A.  7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday only.

 

Q.  How do I reserve the lakeside park pavillion.

A.  Call Stephannie Littleton at 830-693-2951.

 

Q.  What is the minimum square footage allowed per home.

A.  It depends on the lot and zoning, see Code Book Section 150.

 

Q.  When are building permits required?  

A.   A building permit is not required for repairs of existing structures as long as you are       replacing with like or similar materials, there are no electrical or plumbing being ran, and       you are not changing height, length, etc.  If unsure, always contact the building       committee.

 

Q.   What are our water and sewer rates?

A.   They are contained in Appendix A of the City Ordinances which you can reference
        from here.

 

Q.  What does it cost to register a pet?

A.  All the animal control information including registration, renewal, transfer of
      ownership is contained in appendix A of the City Ordinances and can be
      referenced from here.

 

Q. When can garbage be placed at the curb for pickup?

A. Trash bags and containers are only allowed out for pickup between noon Tuesday
     and Thursday morning. see Ordinance 130.02 for details.

 

Q. What items are accepted for recycling?

A.  The following items are accepted for recycling:

      PAPER: Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, brown paper bags and telephone
      directories.
      PLASTIC: Opaque milk and water bottles, soda containers and plastic bottles labeled
      #1 PET or #2HDPE.  Please remove lids, rinse and drain.
      ALUMINUM / TIN: Aluminum and steel cans.  Labels do not have to be removed
      please rinse and drain.
      PLEASE NOTE:  GLASS IS NOT RECYCLABLE AND MUST BE DISPOSED OF IN
      YOUR OTHER SOLID WASTE.  PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT IN THE RECYCLING
      CONTAINER.
