Information provided by the US Census Bureau. Total estimated population of Meadowlakes for 2012 was 2, 104, with a median age of 59 - 47% male and 53% female. At that time, 29.4% of the residents were over 70, but 51.7% were under 60, 40% were under 50, and 19.4% were under 20.

What is the minimum square footage allowed per home.
It depends on the lot and zoning, see Code Book Section 150.
When are building permits required?
A building permit is not required for repairs of existing structures as long as you are replacing with like or similar materials, there are no electrical or plumbing being run, and you are not changing height, length, etc. If unsure, always contact the City secretary.
When can garbage be placed at the curb for pickup?
Trash is to be placed curbside in the provided blue cart with the arrows pointing to the street no sooner than noon Thursday, and to be put away Saturday morning.

What items are accepted for recycling?
The following items are accepted for recycling:
PAPER: Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, brown paper bags and telephone directories.
PLASTIC: Opaque milk and water bottles, soda containers and plastic bottles labeled #1 PET or #2HDPE. Please remove lids, rinse and drain.
ALUMINUM / TIN: Aluminum and steel cans. Labels do not have to be removed please rinse and drain.
PLEASE NOTE: GLASS IS NOT RECYCLABLE AND MUST BE DISPOSED OF IN YOUR OTHER SOLID WASTE. PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT IN THE RECYCLING CONTAINER.
